What To Expect

1 Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park The Jigokudani Monkey Park offers visitors the unique experience of seeing wild monkeys bathing in a natural hot spring. The park is inhabited by Japanese Macaques, which are also known as Snow Monkeys. It is located in the monkey's natural habitat, in the forests of the Jigokudani valley in Ymanouchi, not far from the onsentown of Shibu and Yudanaka. The park has one man-made pool around which the monkeys gather, located a few minutes' walk from the park entrance. Visitors will likely already encounter monkeys along the path to the pool. The monkeys live in large social groups, and it can be quite entertaining to watch their interactions. Accustomed to humans, the monkeys can be observed from very close and almost completely ignore their human guests. 6 hours • Admission Ticket Not Included 2 Jigokudani Funsen OP1 Take a hot spa in Korakukan, Japanese style ryokan, which is an annex of Snow monkey Park. In order to warm, snow monkeys often visit and take a bath there. That means you enter in hot spa with snow monkeys. 2 hours • Admission Ticket included

3 Karuizawa prince shopping plaza OP2. Japan's largest outlet mall, Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza, has about 240 shops on its broad premises that used to be a golf course. Although some of the stores sell only regular products, there is a wide range of outlet shops from world-famous designer brands to Japanese brands as well as souvenirs. There also are restaurants in the mall. The shopping mall is divided into ten areas. Since most of them are one-story buildings, the mall is spread out making it challenging to visit all the shops in one day. 6 hours • Admission Ticket Free

Places to view Fuji

Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi prefecture

Located in Yamanashi prefecture at the northern base of Mt Fuji, Fujiyoshida is the town closest to the sacred mountain. Here you'll get the iconic shot of Mt Fuji that's posted all over Instagram.

The city's main street is perfectly aligned with the centre of the mountain, so it looks as if the road is heading right towards Mt Fuji. The stores flanking this thoroughfare have protruding signboards, creating a scene (and ultimately a photograph) that is quintessentially Japan. However, do note that this is the city's main transport artery, so be mindful and do not obstruct the traffic.
